OUR INGREDIENTS

HONEY

 Our beehives are located in and around Feilding, which has been 14 times voted NZ's Most Beautiful Town. The bees forage from a huge variety of rural and urban botanicals, which gives our honey its unique and complex flavour profile.  We harvest and extract our honey ourselves so we can guarantee its purity.  Our honey is unpasteurized; it's a living food containing an incredible array of antioxidants and phytonutrients. We do not micro-filter our honey as we wish to maintain pollens and tiny particles of propolis and wax which add valuable nutrition and healing properties to the honey.

 

BEESWAX

We harvest and prepare our own beeswax for use in our healing balms. Beeswax is valued in skin preparations for its nourishing and protective qualities. It is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Beeswax is known to be rich in vitamin A which supports cell regeneration.

 

PROPOLIS 

Propolis is truely one of nature's most powerful compounds and has been used by humans for healing for thousands of years.  Our bees create propolis from plant resins, which they then use to protect and sterilise the hive.  We then gratefully harvest just some of this propolis and harness its incredible healing capabilities in a variety of potions.

Propolis is well known to support and stimulate our own immune systems, it raises our resistance to bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Propolis is also known to enhance the effect of antibiotics and activate the thymus gland. 

It has powerful broad spectrum antibiotic and antiviral properties of its own. 

Topically propolis can be used to suppress pain and support tissue regeneration. It provides relief from seasonal allergy symptoms when taken from a local source

Researchers have identified more than 300 compounds in propolis; the majority of these are polyphenols, which are antioxidants known to fight damage and disease within the body.  It is also rich in vitamins minerals and flavonoids.

 There is such a lot of incredible research being done about the healing power of propolis  for a huge range of diverse conditions, I believe we are only just beginning to realize its potential.

We grow as many herbs as possible in our spray free home garden. Any other ingredients are sourced from reputable NZ suppliers and are certified organic wherever possible.
